J u s t   A s k !

When my dad died I had so many questions in my head it was hard to do anything.  In school, the teacher would be talking but I couldn't listen because I was thinking about all these questions and just sitting at my desk asking why, why, why.

But then I thought, I don't know the answers so why was I sitting there asking myself!  I slowly started to ask my mom questions.  She answered them as best she could and she tried to find out if she couldn't.  It really helped me.

I also saw a counselor who has helped a lot of kids like me who lost their dad or mom.  My brother saw him even though he was very little when my dad died because he still misses our dad too.  Sometimes I'd talk with him about things I didn't want to talk with my mom about.  He's a really cool guy and I always feel better after talking to him.

I know it's hard to ask questions when your mom or dad is already sad, but talking about things is the best way. If you can't talk to your mom or dad, maybe you have an aunt or uncle or teacher or friend who is good at these things.

I hope it helps you.
